Privacy Policy for omeglechat.im

This Privacy Policy explains the current data boundaries of Omegle Chat, including the anonymous text-chat prototype, site analytics, and supporting services.

1. Anonymous Chat Connections

The current prototype does not require a name, email, phone number, or public profile. It creates a temporary anonymous identifier in your browser and uses a WebSocket connection to match and forward text messages between active participants.

2. Messages and Reports

The prototype does not implement chat-history storage. The report-and-leave control ends the current session; persistent report records and moderation review are not yet implemented and will require an updated policy before production use.

3. Technical Logs and Analytics

Hosting, security, and analytics providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested page, connection time, and error events to operate and protect the service.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

Omegle Chat may use local storage or limited cookies for age-consent preference, an anonymous session identifier, analytics, reliability, and product improvement. You can clear this data through your browser settings.

5. Security and Stranger Risk

We use reasonable safeguards for the service, but no internet connection is risk-free and strangers may misrepresent who they are. Do not share sensitive personal, financial, account, location, or intimate information.

6. Service Providers and External Links

We may use Cloudflare, analytics, blog, and other infrastructure providers or link to independent websites. Their processing and privacy practices are governed by their own terms and policies.

7. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as chat, moderation, and video capabilities evolve. Changes take effect when posted. Questions can be sent to contact@omeglechat.im.
